What is the Local AQI, and how do I access it?Last Updated: July 04, 2018
The Local AQI is the air quality index of the location that was searched. Local AQIs use many different scales, and can range from 0-10, -100 to 400, and so forth.
For some AQIs, the higher number represent better air quality, and for some it signifies worse.
It can be very confusing to understand and compare the air quality of places that use different AQIs, hence BreezoMeter’s establishment of the BAQI, which is uniform, global, and based on the health impacts of key pollutants.
In the event that the location of interest doesn’t have an official national AQI calculation, an alternate AQI will be given, such as that of the US (US-EPA) or Europe (European AQI), in addition to the BAQI.
In the iOS and Android apps, you can access the local AQI by tapping the 3 dots at the top right corner of the screen and choose “Local info.”
